But Aubry begs to differ: "What about that saying: 'It's better to have loved and lost...'. Aubree interrupts, saying: "No, it's more like a waste of time. I know we just met, but so far so good, and maybe we could just be there for each other, show each other the loyalty and respect that we deserve..." Now it's Aubry's turn to interrupt: "and don't fuck each other". "That's not a bad thing", Valentine wonders. "I've never thought of that possibility", Babcock counters.

"Don't you think the rest of the world is missing out on a pure, platonic relationship?, Valentine asks. After quoting one of Pablo Neruda's poems, Babcock contends: "When we make love with someone, we are connecting on a whole other level that just transcends logic". Impulsively she gives Valentine a quick kiss on the lips, just a peck. "I feel if you're going to teach about love, you've got to learn to start giving in to lust", Aubry declares boldly. "Lust can liberate you -it doesn't have to ruin us", she insists.

Babcock starts kissing Aubree more intensely, pausing to say: "Just give in. Learn to lose yourself. Let yourself fall". Finally, Aubree drops her scholarly facade and enthusiastically kisses back. She removes her top and Babcock hungrily kisses her nipples. Moments later Valentine is completely naked.
